After spending over nine years between Los Angeles and Bali, she’s learned the Balinese people are generous and loving, with a strong sense of community and spirituality. "Guerilla Midwife" Movie Screening – Berlin, Germany
Sandra Gross hosted a screening of “Guerrilla Midwife,” a documentary that shows how, across cultures, families can make the birth of a newborn consciously and lovingly, and how giving birth influences the ability to love the newborn later in life. Voluntary donations were collected on May 31, 2013.
Music for Life Concert – Sydney, Australia
The Sydney Friends of Bumi Sehat held a fundraising concert, Music for Life, on Friday, October 19, 2012. They transformed an empty floor in a building into a concert hall and invited people to come enjoy an evening of musical performances. The stage ignited with the sassy sounds of jazz performed by Franchesca Appolis, Clive Jonathan on sax, and Dean Theo van Leeuwen on keyboards. They created a Web site, Facebook page and distributed a press release to Sydney media as part of the outreach efforts to raise awareness for Bumi Sehat.
Elana Findlow – Sponsor My Run
Elana is running her first 10km and thought it would be a good idea for family and friends to sponsor her so the run can benefit a charity in Bali.
Sounds of Life "Where Music Makes the Difference" – Bali, Indonesia
Organized by a team of staff members from Waterbom in Bali, the Sounds of Life music event donated a portion of the proceeds from the tickets, food and beverage, and a live auction. The benefit concert on March 12, 2012, featured artists Jim Larkin and the Saucy Soul Band, The Soul Doctors, Nahko and Medicine for the People, and Michael Franti and Spearhead. All proceeds for the event went to Yayasan Bumi Sehat. They brought together local retailers as both sponsors and to serve as venues where individuals could purchase tickets to the event.
